Monday to Friday. 8am to 4:30pm. No weekends unless wanted. Local work across Sheffield and South Yorkshire.

We have one (possibly two) positions for experienced joiners to join our specialist loft conversion and raised roof team. The work is booked a year ahead. That means guaranteed full-time hours, year-round. No quiet patches, no agency guesswork, no wondering where next month's work is coming from.

The work

This is not repetitive new-build site work. You will be building entire loft conversions and raised roof lifts, from structural timber through to second fix. Staircases, floor joists, roof structures, stud walls, doors, skirting, the full build. Every project is different. Every finished loft is something you can be proud of.

We are also a certified Velux authorised installer, fitting roof windows for over 20 years. If you want to develop skills in this area, the opportunity is there.

Some projects do take us a little further afield, and very occasionally, once or twice a year, we take on a longer-distance project for a week at a time, which attracts potential distance and productivity bonuses.

Stability. We are booked a full year ahead. Full-time, permanent, no gaps. Our on-site team average nearly 5 years with us, and even our newest starter is coming up to two years. People join and they stay. In construction, that says everything.

Skilled, interesting work. Complete-build carpentry on specialist projects. You will use your full range of skills across structural and finish work — not just hang doors all day. Like any trade job, there are less glamorous tasks (clearing out old roof insulation, anyone?), but they are a small part of the picture. The bulk of the work is skilled, varied, and the kind you can take pride in.

What the work involves

• 1st and 2nd fix joinery

• Installing staircases (strings, handrails, balustrading)

• Installing floor joists and roof rafters

• Building stud walls

• Fitting and hanging doors, skirting, architrave

• Velux and roof window installation

• Assisting other team members across the project where needed

You will be working alongside our site leader and wider team on live residential and commerial projects. The work is hands-on, varied, and requires someone who can manage their own time and take pride in a quality finish.

What we are looking for

• Experienced joiner/carpenter (time-served or qualified)

• Comfortable with both structural and finish carpentry

• A team player who can also work independently

• Professional manner, punctual, reliable

• Comfortable communicating with colleagues and the office

• Full UK driving licence

• Own basic hand tools

• Understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental regulations

Experience in loft conversions is a bonus, but not essential. If you are a good joiner who wants to specialise, we will support you.
